As 2025 comes to a close, we reflect on the workers we stood alongside and the partnerships whose support made our work possible. In the face of growing challenges for migrant workers, MRCC reaffirms our commitment to building a strong, caring network of solidarity and support.
This year marked MRCC’s 8th anniversary, grounded in the theme “Rooted in the community and advancing the struggles of migrant workers to greater heights in pursuit of justice and dignity.” This principle continues to guide our work where in 2025, we supported dozens of workers facing complex and urgent situations – helping them access legal advice, recover unpaid wages, obtain open work permits, and access emergency housing and medical care.
We also hosted community information sessions on the changing immigration policies, the threat of Bill C-2, and the importance of cross-border labour solidarity. We also continued supporting migrant-led campaigns such as Justice for Mushroom Four, Justice for All Migrant Workers (J4M4) and Tanggol Migrante, and strengthened our global solidarity through participating in the International Migrants Alliance working group in Toronto and their 6th global assembly in Nepal.
As socio-economic conditions worsen and immigration policies continue to shift, the demand for our services will only grow. Your continued support enables us to respond with care, accountability, and resolve.
